If Furlough protested when Desperaux was being sent to the dungeon, here would be what I would think that happened. First, Furlough may go to the dungeon because he is going onto Desperaux’s side, and not going with what he had said before, and of what every other mouse had said besides Desperaux. Second, if Furlough was protesting against the mouse council and the other mice, he was actually the one who asked the mouse council to have the trial with them. Third, if Furlough protested for Desperaux, Desperaux may not go to the dungeon like planned. Instead, Furlough might go to the dungeon because now, he was the major problem instead of Desperaux. I think that might have happened if Furlough protested for Desperaux.
