Put yourself in Harry's shoes, how would you feel if you were suddenly told there was a wizarding world and you were magical? Describe what questions you would have for Hagrid and compare them to Harry's questions. Are they they same? Different? Be sure to include examples from the story to support your answer.

If I was Harry and I found out about a wizarding world I'd feel so astonished. If I saw a large man walk into my house and tell me that I was magical I would have fainted right on the spot. And all this time my aunt and uncle knew all about me being magical and Hogwarts. The first thing I would have asked Hagrid would be nothing I'd be too scared to say anything because there is a big man right there, but Harry got to asked "who are you". His question was different than mine because Harry was more eager to know Hagrid than I would have been (p.48). Harry asked what had happened to Voldemort , If I knew Hagrid hated that name so much I would have asked him more about my parents instead. My question is different because I would have learned more about my parents (p.57). Harry asked Hagrid why were you expelled from Hogwarts instead I would have asked him more about it so when I went there I would have known a little about it (p.60). As you can see those are the questions that I would ask.

If I just figured out that my parents were one of the best wizards at this magic place called Hogwats, I would be surprised. Imagine if you were at this little, old house that wasn't even yours, and this big guy just came and knocked down the door; I would jump behind something where he could not see me. The first question I would have asked Hagrid is 'who are you?' like Harry did.[p.48] The next question I woul have asked him was 'why are you here?' Harry asked him 'I'm sorry but I still don't know who you are?' [p.49] Being Harry would be a rough time.

If I were Harry, I would want to know how could I be a wizard if I'd spent my whole life living in a cupboard under the stairs of the Dursley house. Where was all my magical history? (pg.50) Since the Dursleys had told me parents were killed in a car crash, I'd want some convincing evidence that Hagrid's story of my parents' being killed by Voldemort was true. (pg 50-51). Seeing Hagrid put a pig's tail on Dudley would be pretty good convincing, though. (p. 59) Really, if I were Harry, I'd be so sick of living with the Durleys, and being told that I'm a nobody, I'd want to believe Hagrid. Mostly, my questions are the same as Harry's. He asks Hagrid these same kinds of questions on the page numbers above. Harry really was sick of living with the Dursleys, with all their selfishness and nastiness. (Harry makes comments all throughout the book about this). Harry does eventually decide to go with Hagrid, rather than continue on with the Dursleys.
