In the book Holes, Zero is a dynamic character. Zero is a dynamic character because he does not speak in the beginning of the book and by the end of the book, he talks. Zero could not read or write in the beginning of the book and could do so at the end. Zero did not have any friends but then gained the friendship of Stanley. Zero also began to tell the truth. This occurred when he told Stanley that he was the one who took the shoes. Those are reasons why Zero is a dynamic character in Holes.

In the book Holes, the Warden is a static character. She is static because in the beginning of the book she acts all nice and innocent. But at the end Stanley found the suitcase the Warden was looking for and she acted like Stanley stole it from her. Another reason the Warden is a static character is because she doesn't care about anyone but herself. When Zero hit Mr.Pendenski and ran away the Warden just stood their and didn't even say"are you OK?" In the end she wanted the suitcase so she lied and said "He stole my stuff and put it in that bag!" The Warden is one of the static characters in the book Holes.
