Why did Stanley stick up for Magnet for the stolen sunflower seeds? Well, Stanley tried to catch the sunflower seeds but then he mist and they fell in Stanley's hole. When Mr.Sir came back a few min. later he saw the sunflower seeds sticking out of Stanley's hole. If Stanley said Magnet did it he would have gotten in more trouble for "lying." Well, that answers that question!

There are many reasons why Stanley may have taken the fall for his peers. I believe Stanley said he stole the sunflower seeds because he knew he was in the wrong place at the wrong time (p. 85). This was a Yelnats trait. They always had awful luck (p. 9). The Yelnats family thought they had a curse. Stanley may also have felt partly at fault for not catching the bag. He was hopeful things would turn out in his favor. This was also a Yelnats trait. These are the reasons why I think Stanley took the fall for stealing the sunflower seeds.
